Myleanna is a 9-year-old girl whose left leg was amputated from the knee down after a lawn mower accident in 2017.  Spirited, athletic and with a “can-do” attitude, Myleanna continued her favorite activities; dancing, gymnastics and soccer using a bulky, uncomfortable prosthetic leg which was not conducive to high impact activity. Unfortunately, the lightweight prosthetic blade better suited for sports and activities was not covered by insurance. one2one paired a generous Donor couple with our partner, A Step Ahead Prosthetics enabling Myleanna to receive a high-performance blade and continue her activities with the same energy, passion and dedication that lives within her.

Her amazing story made news headlines throughout the area and this past October, Myleanna was contacted by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Florida who invited her family to an all-expense paid VIP meet and greet visit where Myleanna was able to live out her dream of meeting Winter, a dolphin with a prosthetic tail, and Hope, a dolphin rescued as a calf. Myleanna and her family are extremely grateful for all the opportunities provided by one2one!
